27/01/2010 9:57:40 PM

Balmoral Triathlon Club members had some great results at Canberra on January 24, 2010 in the Olympic distance and Sprint distance races. With temperatures soaring to around 40 degrees on the Saturday before the race most competitors where praying for a change and an earlier start.

(Hold on... is that a gold medal around Karl's neck?)

Balmoral Karl Hayes, Duncan Houston, Ruchard Hug, Hansjoerg Knieling and Emiel TemmermanSunday dawned and the heat from the previous day was a distant memory. Conditions where close to perfect with enough cloud cover to keep the sun off everyone and no wind until the end of the race with only the last couple of waves getting it on the bike leg. The sprint distance race started at 6:45 with the first wave of the olympic distance starting at 7:10.
