Congratulations to the huge contingent of BTC athletes who trained through some very testing winter and spring conditions and competed at Noosa on the weekend.
BTC had some fantastic results from age group podiums to some athletes completing their first triathlons.
Special mentions to the Noosa regular Paul Bethell who had a blinder of a race and took an awesome second place in the male 45-49 group in 2:10:05. Peter Cantwell was our second male home and Joey Sprange who also makes the trip up every year was super strong across all three legs to come home in 2:20:13. A shout out to brand new club member Jonathan Moore (so brand new he's not listed on the club results!) who was racing in his second ever triathlon to finish in 2:22:38 with a 38 minute run.
It was great to hear from John Hallis who went 28 minutes fast this year than he did in 2013! He fractured his leg and underwent knee surgery in 2014 so it's great to see him back out on the course.
And how about our females! Cassie Price Mc-Coy, Catherine Bethell (Paul's lovely pocket rocket wife), Pip Livingstone and Sharna Hinchcliff (second overall in our club race the previous weekend) all within two and a half minutes of one another! Awesome results ladies, with top 10 placings for Cassie and Pip. Morenna Burn raced her first Olympic distance race (and hopefully not her last) and Mimi Smith's hard and consistent winter training paid off despite a bad shoulder leading into the race.
Congratulations on some fabulous results and we hope you've all enjoyed some recovery time in sunny Noosa!
