Big thanks to all our volunteers and committee members for all their help in the last 6 weeks, there has been so much on at our club and we really appreciate everyone pitching in to make these events happen. Thanks to Justin Betar for his continued support, and Matt from Le Spit for coming along to our races this season, and Campbell from Square one physio for donating some great prizes.
First National Cremorne Swim TT Results
We had an absolutely stunning day for our 3rd and Final Swim TT of the season.
It was pretty choppy out there, there was rumours of blue bottles, we had to fight for space on the beach and in the water, but still everyone made the most of it and put in a great effort. Big thanks to Andrew Thomas from First National Real Estate Cremorne for his continued sponsorship of our Swim TT and the Club Champs weekend.
After Coach Waino and Coach Lew took our athletes for a warmup session, we started our 1km (ish) time trial which was 2 laps of the extended course. There was some dodging of windsurfers, people, blue bottles, but everyone came out unscathed.
Jack McPhee was quick out the blocks and did his best to stay on the toes of Quentin for as long as possible.
However Quentin, soon opened up a good gap and went on to take out the Mens division, with Jack McPhee in 2nd. Ilse Peterson, was 1st Female home and 3rd overall with a fantastic swim time, just beating 3rd place Male Derek Mulhearn (who had already competed and Won an aquathon on Saturday Morning). Andrea Pember was 2nd female and Lauren Bourke 3rd.
We had some great sprint finishes across the line, good to see some healthy competition among our BTC members - all the points count (and bragging rights).

It was an absolutely stunning morning down at Chowder Bay for our 2nd Betar Lawyers race of the season, catching a beautiful sunrise and watching a big cruise ship enter the harbour !
Toasty conditions for our second Pace Athletic 5km run time trial of the 2015/2016 seasons off the back of a 37 degree Sydney day. Well done to all who showed up and to David Loader for first across the line and Ashley Smart our first female.
Our first club race of the season was held in perfect conditions on what we still consider to be the most scenic triathlon course in Australia! Congratulations to all who raced. Derek Mulhearn and Lauren Bourke took out the male and female wins with some very close podium placings behind them.
It was great to see John Simmonds and Merri Mack returning to the race course. Always enjoyable to see Coach Bruce Thomas rolling around too. He was last seen whingeing about the stair climb out of the swim. Thoughts are with Murray who took a pretty nasty tumble on the bike while out in front. No doubt he'll be back soon dragging Jack McPhee around.
THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who helped out. These events can't happen without you.
A big shout out to Mike Gough our committee Race Director who puts a huge amount of work into these races. There's a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to running a sanctioned triathlon event and he's worked very hard to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. Thanks Mike.
Also thanks to Bri McPhee and Greg Mulhearn for grabbing some great photos of the morning.
