SquareOne Women’s Health Triathlon & Training Clinics

Balmoral Triathlon Club (BTC) Women’s Triathlon is open to all female participants aged 15 years or over.

Our Womens’ Triathlon is non-competitive and all about a fun, supportive environment: Finish Lines not Finish Times. It is a fabulous opportunity for first timers and a fun hit out for experienced triathletes on a traffic free course. To help get you ready to take part, BTC is providing free training clinics and a free training programme.

The event

It is a short course, enticer distance triathlon for women only, held at the scenic location of Middle Head in Mosman. The 200m swim takes place in the sheltered waters of Obelisk Beach, before the 9km cycle takes in three laps of Chowder Bay Road which is closed to traffic for the race, and finally the 2km run takes place on Middle Head Oval.

PRICES AND ENTRY: $20 for an individual. $40 for a team

Individuals or relay teams can take part in any configuration. One person can do all three legs solo, a team of two with one person doing two legs and one person doing one leg or a team of three with each person doing one leg.

Swim aids and wetsuits are permitted for the swim leg and any type of bike is permitted for the bike leg (exc e-bikes). You can enter as an individual or a relay team for only $20 and this covers the cost of a Triathlon Australia Day Pass providing you with insurance for the race.

Like all BTC events, this race will be conducted in accordance with NSW Triathlon Rules. 


Training Clinics

To help women new to the sport, BTC will be running a series of training sessions in the lead up to the event, provided at no charge to race entrants. These sessions will be alongside our main club sessions, and lead by one of fabulous professional coaches from Energy Link Performance Coaching. In addition, there will be a female club member at each session to welcome you, answer any questions you may have and generally show you the ropes. We need you to register for these sessions. The sessions all take place from the our club house down at Balmoral Beach, opposite Balmoral Baths. They will be taking place on the following days: 

From November 3rd to December 6th: 

  • Tuesdays 6:00am Run session  (Bring running gear and water)

  • Saturdays 6:30am Bike/run session  (Bring your bike, some runners and water. No need to bring a helmet)

  • Saturdays 3:00pm Open Water swim session (bring your swim gear, goggles and a cap)

Special sessions 

  • Saturday Nov 22nd  6:30am Swim/Bike/Run (Bring your bike, runners and swim gear)
